Popular
culture can be defined as a way people carry out themselves which is similar
with that of huge mass of people. In short, it is a lifestyle followed or
adopted by majority of population. Culture to me is beliefs and thoughts being
carried out by people. And I think it is heavily influenced by technology we
are in.
I think this sort of information about the
culture being pursued by people must be taken into consideration while scanning
a favorable business environment. It helps to explore the scope and the
opportunities of specific business in the particular environment. Moreover, it
gives insights about the potential customers of that specific business helping
to pinpoint the target customer.
Personally,
knowing about the culture beforehand would allow me to know the general
environment while encountering it for the first time. At workplace, it would
help me to minimize conflicts that are created due to misunderstanding about
the culture now and in the future.
To represent a popular culture artifact I have
chosen Pizza, the only dish which I think almost every people in this earth
want to have it. This mouth watering dish, being available in every part of
restaurant whether it be specialty or a simple restaurant around the world, has
become people’s part of life. Our daily life has become so busy that we don’t
think to spare time preparing food. We just ring our phone, order pizza and
have it. I also tend to think of pizza when I am hungry. So, I think pizza has
put a major impact on our daily lifestyle and thus can be regarded as one of
the popular culture.
